About the author and illustrator

Emma Farrarons is a French illustrator and graphic designer based in London. Born on the tropical island of Cebu in the Philippines, Emma grew up in Paris. She was trained in illustration at the Edinburgh College of Art and l'École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
Her favourite art medium are Japanese calligraphy pens, watercolours, markers,
graphite and colouring pencils.

Having completed a textile and printmaking course at Capellagården school in Sweden, she has developed a particular love for pattern and fabric print. Emma is inspired by French, Scandinavian and Japanese design. For the Mindfulness patterns, she likes to go location drawing in botanical gardens, and even gets inspiration from her local fruit and vegetable shop. You'll notice an artichoke and a pineapple illustration she drew in Book 2, which were part of her groceries.
